Project Rubi - Kid’s room

The challenge: I wanted to avoid the typical nursery clichés or plastic trends that children outgrow quickly. The room also featured a classic Berlin Kachelofen which I needed to integrate seamlessly into a child friendly space rather than treating it as an obstacle.

The solution: I selected a floral terracotta wallpaper to set a warm cheerful tone. I chose this pattern specifically to match the leafy relief details of the stove, making the vintage heater feel like an intentional part of the design. Paired with rattan furniture and vintage pieces, the room feels joyful, cohesive and ready to evolve as the child grows.
