Project Hansi- Kids’ room

Making room for two. With a second baby on the way, this French-German family faced a common Berlin challenge: move to a larger, expensive apartment or optimize their current home? They chose to stay, but the designated kids' room was narrow and dominated by classic Altbau Flügeltüren (double doors) that left little wall space.

The solution: I designed a layout that turns limitations into opportunities. By utilizing the vertical height with a bunk bed and planning around the complex doorways, I created a playful, shared sanctuary. The result gave the two boys plenty of room to play and dream, proving that you don't always need more square meters, just a smarter plan.
